Who wears short shorts? Usually not me. Even with as much as I love the look of dresses, I’m usually more of a pants girl.
Even at my skinniest I’ve always had what I refer to as “big ol’ country girl legs”. I’ve always been envious of the girls with the super svelte shapely legs. Mine have always been on the thick side, and as I’ve gotten older, they’ve only gotten thicker. Like the rest of me. Yikes.
Lately I’ve decided that enough is enough. Especially during the summer here in Austin, I NEED shorts. So, regardless of what I think my thighs look like, I’m breaking out the clothes that keep me cool.
This week I had to prepare my classroom for my preschool students. I teach toddlers and young two-year-olds so that means I’m usually climbing on top of tables and chairs to hang things high up on the walls and ceiling. I needed to wear something that would be appropriate for being in a school but also give me freedom of movement to dangle from the ceiling lights with my stapler in hand. Shorts along with this lightweight cotton bandana print button down were perfect for my day. And yes, the wedges came off in the classroom.
My husband was quickly taking pictures for me before I had to leave for the day, and our sweet dog, Gidget, ran out with us. I couldn’t resist letting her join. She’s a darling, and has made friends with most of our neighbors.
What do you usually shy away from wearing? And what would make you reconsider?
