Fall ’15 is the season of the jean. Flare, boyfriend, rough-edge skinny, crop flare, high waisted- I love them all, but with so many different silhouettes, it’s sometimes difficult to know how to wear them.
One of the more difficult shapes for me to figure out was the boyfriend. They tend to be a looser, lower waisted jean, and I had a hard time with whether I should wear a looser top or more fitted. Tucked or untucked? Flats or heels?
Turns out, these jeans are actually very easy to wear and go with almost everything.
Style 1: Casual with Boots
I’m not normally a sweatshirt or t-shirt wearer, but this one has a hi-low hem and a back cut-out– SOLD! Here I paired it with black studded motorcycle style boots to keep the look casual. I rolled the jeans up to make sure to show off the boots. I probably wouldn’t try this look with boots that are much taller than these, but it totally works with short or ankle boots.

Style 2: Flowy with Wedges
If you know me or have read this blog for a while, you know that I love a good wedge. These bright cobalt peep-toes go with more than you think and are one of my favorites! Here the same boyfriend jeans are paired with the blue wedges and a sheer kimono sleeve blouse that I’ve had for several years. At first I was afraid the loose top paired with the looser jeans would overpower my figure, but they actually work well together. The jeans are still rolled up to help balance everything out. I have to show some ankle!

Style 3: Tailored with Killer Heels
And these are definitely killer heels! The boyfriend jean tends to be a little more casual, and these along with the tailored button-down dress them up nicely. Add some pearls and a cute belt, and you’re good to go. A cute new haircut doesn’t hurt either!

Of course, make these looks work for you. Try flats instead of boots or a cardigan instead of a button down. Don’t be afraid to try on different things until you find the look that’s comfortable and- most importantly- represents who you are.
Which of the three styles is your favorite?
