Last night we took the entire family to a baseball game for the local minor league team. HOT! It was hawwwwwt outside! Well worth braving the heat though, because the kids will always remember baseball with the family, and eating hot dogs and ice cream until their tummies hurt.
When everyday temps are 100° it’s hard to remember that fall and cooler weather are right around the corner. With summer soon winding down, this is the perfect time to start thinking of a wardrobe that is comfortable for the dog days of summer but that will also transition well into autumn.
I love wearing juicy colors in the summer- think lemon yellow, raspberry pink. Actually, scratch that- I love wearing all colors, all the time, but orange is, to me, kind of an unexpected color. It’s bright and stands out amongst a sea of white in August, and then blends beautifully with the changing leaves in October.
I managed to snag this dress from Old Navy on clearance for less than $8! The sandals were also a clearance find on Zulily for less than $7! I can’t wait to see what it looks like styled for cooler weather with a denim jacket or a scarf.
You can see more orange examples below. Check them out!
What do you think of orange? Would you feel comfortable in such a bright color?
