The thing I love about fashion today is that just about everything is stylish now. It’s not like in years past where if you weren’t wearing the right thing, you just weren’t right.
Honestly, that’s one reason why I love taking fashion risks and trying new things- because it’s not such a crazy thing to do anymore.
This black ruffle peplum blouse is one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. It’s so different from everything else I have, and I always feel so feminine when wearing it. When paired with a pencil skirt, it creates a very girly, romantic look. But I love the edginess and contrast that jeans gives this frilly top.
Here I’m wearing the gorgeous romantic Victorian style ruffle blouse with more casual boyfriend jeans. Of course I rolled the jeans to show off the ankles and to make sure my Poetic Licence red velvet peep toe pumps are fully visible!
I love how the black ruffle top and the red pumps have a similar style, but are separated by the contrasting jeans. I added my favorite gold drop earrings and a black leather owl bracelet to give some interest.
I feel like the ruffle top is very girly for my usual taste, but it’s always fun to change things up a little every now and then!
Do you have a usually style? Have you tried anything new lately?
