Happy August! I’m in slight shock that July is already over and that summer has almost passed us by. Here in my house we have just a few more weeks of sweet summer freedom before we’re back to early mornings at the bus stop.

July was such a busy month; we had a cross-country vacation, out-of-town visitors, medical appointments. It seemed like I was constantly on the go. Because of this, I relied heavily on my favorite items- things that I knew I could throw on and rely on them to look good.

1. 1) I’m a huge fan of the NYX Butter Glosses. When I saw the shades of the Intense Butter Gloss line- I fell in love even more. This neon purple color is called Berry Strudel. It’s a bright lilac that is such fun, you can’t help but be in a good mood when wearing it. I always seem to get compliments on it every time I wear it!

2) I’m not good at trying new mascaras. When I find one that I like (it has to enhance both the volume and length of my lashes) I tend to keep buying it for as long as I can, because the good ones are few and far between. I had some seriously high hopes for this Revlon Volume + Length Mascara, and they did not disappoint! This does majorly good things for my lashes, and it stays on all day- no flaking or smudging.

3) Last month I told you about the Be a Bombshell Smooth Criminal Setting Powder that I loved. When I ran out, I was impatient and wanted something quickly and didn’t want to wait to order new powder. I picked up the NYX Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray at my local Target, and it works! It almost breaks my heart to wash my face at night, because my makeup still looks so fabulous! Try! You’ll like!

4) Since I’ve been running around so much this past month, I’ve been wearing things more for comfort than for fashion. I picked up a pair of these slip on shoes from H&M that I can put on in the morning and wear all day. My shoes are in a fun snakeskin print, but H&M offers so many colors and fun textures in their slip on shoes that I have no doubt you’ll find one you love.

5) Fun, colorful makeup is my jam, y’all. So it should be no surprise how much I love this metallic Ultra Olive Gem Eye Pencil from Starlooks. I received this eyeliner pencil in one of my Ipsy Glam Bags, and I keep returning to it, because it really does make my green eyes sparkle!
