Pretty in #IpsyPink
A few days ago I received one of my favorite pieces of mail– that distinctive hot pink envelope! There’s just something about getting goodies in the mail that makes an ordinary day feel special.
The theme for Ipsy‘s February Glam Bag is “Pretty in #IpsyPink”, and so far I’m definitely enjoying the rose-hued goodies. This month’s haul included Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Primer Oil, Seraphine Botanicals Carrot + Rose Hydrating Cream, Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in I’m Kind of a Big Deal, Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment in Sierra Nevada #5, and a Margaret Dabbs London crystal nail file.
So far I’ve used the Naked mica powder the most. The mica powder is neat in that it can be used in a variety of ways- as an eyeshadow, blush, lip color. The color is described as espresso brown, but when I wear it as an eyeshadow it looks more like a rose gold. Very pretty.
Fun fact- when I was in my early 20’s I loved, adored, obsessed over the color pink. I was like Shelby from Steel Magnolias. Blush, bashful, magenta, fuchsia, hot pink, neon pink… they were all my signature color! Now days I think that vivid and bold colors work better for me, but I tried the Trust Fund soft pink nail polish, and actually kind of enjoyed my little pink flash back. It won’t be a go-to color for me, but I enjoyed the brief change.
I’ve also had incredible luck with Smashbox products, and that includes the photo finish primer oil. I have very dry skin that breaks out easily if I don’t moisturize enough. Sometimes I feel like I’m always slathering stuff on my face, but it’s worth it when I end up with a gorgeous smooth complexion. The Smashbox oil does an amazing job of keeping me moisturized and glowing. Thumbs up!
Another great month of Ipsy! Can’t wait to see what March brings! Have you signed up yet?
