Raw Edge Jeans
Jeans. They’re something we all wear. Skinny, boyfriend, relaxed, cropped, flare- there’s a style for everyone. To be honest, I’m a little tired of the super dressed up, elegant looking jeans. Instead, lately I’ve been enjoying a more distressed, worn-in look. My current favorite (and the style I’m currently shopping for!) has a raw edge hem that looks good with tennies, heels or booties. Check out a few that have made it to my short list:
One: I love these New York & Co Stovepipe cropped jeans! I’m really digging the straight cropped leg. I’m definitely into showing a little ankle, and I love that you don’t have to roll these and cover up that awesome raw edge. Plus, I love the dye-line detail.
Two: These Mossimo distressed jeggings can be found at your neighborhood Target. Again, they have that dye-line detail at the cuff that I love!
Three: Target has really stepped up their denim game with these cuff-less boyfriend jeans. Boyfriends are my favorite style of the moment, and I love how these are just a little different from the norm.
Four: For basic jeans, you can never go wrong with Old Navy. These light blue jeggings will go with everything.
Five: More straight leg crops, this time from Gap. The dark dye gives this style a dressier feel- great for the days that require just a little more effort.
Six: omg, flares! Last summer when culottes came back into style, I just couldn’t even. I remember wearing culottes and split skirts as a kid, and while I realize fashion is cyclical, I couldn’t talk my self into wearing them again. The culottes’ cousin, Flare, though? Love. And these cropped flares from New York & Co? Double love.
Seven: Nordstrom is getting in the distressed game with these BlankNYC faded, whiskered and distressed skinny ankle crops.
Eight: H&M carries just about everything you could want, so it’s no surprise that I would find that they carry these long distressed flares. Raw edge dye-line- check. Distressed and patched knees- check. Long flares perfect with booties or wedges- check.
Nine: New York & Co. had the biggest variety of raw edge jeans that I came across. Here’s another pair of Soho Jeans, this time with contrasting dyed patches going down both legs.
Ten: These Topshop jeans found at Nordstrom technically don’t have the raw edge hems, but they do have the raw edges on the legs where the contrasting patching is. Works for me!
What do you think of this trend? I have my favorite pair picked out- which is yours?
