Yesterday I attended a small business legal workshop. Fun stuff, I tell ya, but I really am trying to treat the ol’ blog as my new small business, so I guess it’s good that I learn a few things. Plus, I ran into a new friend there. We’re trying to turn our random run-ins into deliberate get-togethers. Always a good thing.

This past weekend Austin was gripped by the Austin Cobra drama. It started with a tragic event that ended with a real and live cobra being lost in our concrete jungle. Eventually it was found, but not before the city had fun with the circumstances. In Riki-Tiki-Tavi style, even the cobra’s Twitter account was trolled by The Austin Mongoose. Classic.

Is anyone else in love with Ikea the way I am? I get giddy every summer when the new catalog is released. My Domaine has already seen the catalog and released a sneak peek. This year it’s chock full of new goodies, and they are fab. Can’t. Wait. Almost. Time.

I also recently discovered Kari Lane Jewelry. She repurposes older pieces into one of a kind new pieces that are knock-outs. This would go with just about everything, right?

I’m already planning for the day my fella and I have our home to ourselves again. You know, when the kids are gone, and we don’t step on a lego or cracker crumbs every time we move. When that time comes I’m thinking a sofa like this from Joybird Furniture should make its way to my home. Especially in one of the bright, happy colors that they offer. Hot pink? Turquoise? Yes, please. A girl can dream…
