I can’t remember a time when I was as busy as I have been this fall. From taking care of my own kids to taking care of the kids I teach at preschool to (many!) medical appointments and general family and home maintenance- I’m exhausted!

I’m fully aware that this kind of busyness is sometimes unavoidable and what I signed up for as a mom of kids.

So. Many. Kids…

So when we get the chance to get gussied up and go out with friends for a fancy dinner- um, ok! No need to think twice!

I found this adorable peasant dress at Charming Charlie after visiting seven stores beforehand. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. BOOM– Jackpot! The colors were so pretty and vivid, and it looked amazing with the gold wrap heels that I’ve had for years. I love when I can still wear items that I’ve had hidden away in my closet.

I also found at Charming Charlie the nude and snakeskin clutch. I do love to mix my prints and colors, and I know the clutch will look great in the future with other outfits. I felt like I was dressed enough for an evening out, but I loved that I still felt like “me”.

We ended up having a fantastic evening with so many friends. We were wined and dined, and we were able to come back to our busy, crazy life feeling refreshed. I know life won’t slow down anytime soon, so I’ll take whatever break I can get!
