Every winter I find myself complaining that it’s too cold and how I can’t wait for the heat of summer. And every summer, I wonder what the heck was I thinking?! Here in Austin it’s hot. Hoooooooot. And humid. So gross.
During the dog days of summer it can be difficult to find something to wear that keeps me cool, is cute, and not shorts. Not that I have anything against shorts, but a girl likes to mix things up and not wear the same thing every day.
The other day I was browsing through the recesses of my closet- you know, where the forgotten things are- and I found a cute floral dress with ruffles. Jackpot! It checkedĀ all my boxes- cute, cool, and not shorts. And honestly it was like getting a new dress, simply because I had forgotten that I even had it.
The sweet little black and pink number has spaghetti straps, so I wore it layered with my favorite black bralet with a denim jacket for those times I’m freezing in the a/c. The bloused elastic waist was accentuated with a tan belt for contrast and my favorite lace up wedges.
This look just might make it into the regular rotation, and it’s a great look for fall!
What are you wearing to beat the heat? Have you revived an old look lately?
