This is the good kind of cold shoulder!
My husband and I are pretty big into city exploring. We love seeing everything Austin has to offer- or really any city for that matter. A few days ago I was out with my family running around town. My husband needed new Warbys and then we “had” to make a stop at the Gourdough’s trailer. 😉
Even though it’s only the beginning of May, Austin is already experiencing lotsa heat! Since we were going to be walking around a lot in the heat and humidity, I knew I had to dress comfy.
There’s nothing new about the cold shoulder top; the style has been around for a long time. But this spring, it’s definitely enjoying a resurgence. It’s showing up everywhere and in a variety of ways- from boho festival tops to more streamlined tailored looks.
This cold shoulder blouse was picked up from Maurices. Its peplum bottom is very forgiving (for when you need to hide the Gourdough’s evidence!), and the flounces and frills are very flattering. Plus the red geometric print is just plain happy!
Here I wore it with straight jeans (rolled, of course, to show that ankle), and animal print ankle wrap sandals. And of course, this type of top would also look amazing with flare jeans or a maxi skirt.
Do you show your shoulders in cold shoulder tops? If not, what’s your favorite warm weather wear?
