Old Navy Love! Pixie Chinos with Olive Sueded Shell Top

Old Navy Floral Pixie Chinos- Rocking Patterned Pants

I am a fan of the statement piece. Whether decor in my home or a piece of clothing, I love a piece that stands out and commands attention.

In the past my statement piece has always been a top, shoes, or an accessory. Something far away from my rumpular area as not to draw attention to it.

I’ve always been a big-bootied girl; I can compete with the best of ’em. But until recently that was not a good thing. At least, to me it wasn’t.

I recently took note of the statement pieces I was wearing, and I noticed that I’m incorporating items that draw attention to instead of away from what I consider one of my worst features. It seems a little backward to me, but I’m embracing this new trend of mine.

I’m a huge fan of the Old Navy Pixie Pants. I may or may not have several, each a different color. Lately, the Pixies that I’m buying are colorful with fun patterns and definitely not ones to blend into the background.

I love how pretty and springy these Pixies are. To combat the sweetness, I paired them with an olive green sueded shell. It helps to ground the pink and purple floral of the pants. I’m also loving the side knot lately. It adds shape to an otherwise shapeless garment, and emphasizes the narrowness of my waist and the fullness of my booty. The go-anywhere fedora and lace-up wedges complete the casual look.

This pants are the opposite of the pink floral pair. I felt the grey diamond pattern needed a feminine complement, so I added a blush pink knit shell. With this look, I loved how the oversized top countered the slim line of the pants.

Of course, I had to add my Cutie Pie orange and pink wedges by Poetic Licence. I always say that the shoes by Poetic Licence are works of art for my feet, and seeing these, I think that’s still a fair description! I get compliments on these wherever I go.

I kept the same cream wristlet, and added a long peach and gold beaded necklace to add even more femininity.

What do you think about the idea of drawing attention to, instead of away from your trouble spots?

What areas are you insecure about, and how do you handle that? Please leave a comment, and let’s discuss!
