Hello and welcome to Drew & Alice! I’m Carey.

Thank you so much for joining the #AdventuresInPretty! I can’t wait to get to know you!

Drew & Alice was born from a life-long love of all things style and beauty. I’ve always been a fashionista, and I can clearly remember trying to style outfits and playing around with makeup as a little girl. Now, as a semi-grown up, I’m still passionate about fashion and beauty, and I’m so glad I get to share it with you! I love to follow what is new in the world of fashion, and my goal is to show you how to take what is trending and transform that into real, wearable style. 

I know not every body is built the same way and therefore can’t all wear exactly the same things, but we can all take inspiration from the world of high-fashion and make it our own! My hope is that gaining a sense of adventure and playfulness in taking style risks will be your take-away from Drew & Alice. 

I call Austin, Texas my home, and I live here with my fella and my merry band of kids and pets. Even though I’ve always had a love for fashion, I lost sight of that during my pregnancies and after having my kids. My shape had changed so drastically that I just didn’t know what to wear anymore. It took some soul-searching to learn to love my new body and a lot of patience to figure out what is flattering, and- more importantly!- what is not! 

You’ll find that I am a huge fan of color, not only in fashion and beauty, but also in my decorating! While I admit there is sometimes a need for beige or nudes, I rarely wear or use them because color is just so much more fun!

The biggest honor for me would be to inspire you to look at yourself and your style in a different light and show you that just because you haven’t done something in the past doesn’t mean you can’t do it now! I’d love for you to join me on the adventure!

I know you’re wondering- why Drew and Alice? I’m an avid reader and as a girl my favorite literary characters were Nancy Drew and Alice in Wonderland, and I’ve always admired their plucky determinedness. And just like them I’m curious and adventurous by nature.
