10 Random Things

Happy Friday! I know I’m fairly new to the blogging scene, so I’m back today with 10 random things about myself so you can get to know me a little better.

1) My favorite color changes with the day and my mood. Sometimes it changes throughout the day. Color makes me happy, and I love to be surrounded by it. That being said, three colors I use, but will never be counted as favorites: brown, grey and black. Sorry to those who love neutrals.

2) I am fascinated- in love with- by the world we live in. I have a deep desire to travel and experience as much of the world as I can. Sadly, I’ve only traveled to two countries outside of my own.

3) I have gone from being a country girl to a total city girl. At one point in my life I wanted a place of my own where I could slow down and spread out. I’ve since discovered that my life feels somewhat empty without friends and neighbors I can interact with daily. I love to see what’s happening around me. Maybe that just makes me a busybody…

4) I’m a list maker. Anyone else? And it has to be written on paper by a nicer pen. There’s such satisfaction in crossing items off the list as they’re accomplished! Honestly, I don’t even stick to a to-do list or a grocery list. I’ll jot down gifts I need to buy or goals I want to meet.

5) I’m a reader. Have been since childhood. I’m sure you can guess two of my favorite literary characters just from the name of this blog- Nancy Drew and Alice in Wonderland. I love how you can live different lives and experiences through books. I have a great friend (Molly McAdams– she’s not paying me to say that, I just love her!) who happens to be an author, and I love hearing how she creates her characters and stories.

6) My favorite novel is one that I read when I was 13, and still adore it- Gone With the Wind. Those of you who have seen the movie, but not read the book- shame on you!- the book’s incredible. I also love to read action, historical based fiction; anything by Steve Berry, really.

7) I never, ever feel like I’m completely put together unless I have my toes painted and something on my lips. I own entirely too many bottles of polish and tubes of lipstick! It’s an addiction.

8) I love to make my own art. When I see a piece that I like my favorite thing is to attempt to recreate it and put my own spin on it. My home is filled with colorful art- some bought, some made. My collection of acrylic paint is growing out of control.

9) One of my style goals is to color my hair a fun color. My current favorite is lavender like Kelly Osbourne or Raven-Symone. I’m terrified of actually doing it, because my real color is actually really pretty with natural red highlights, and I’m scared that after coloring it wouldn’t grow back in the same way. Plus I haven’t had any grey hairs come in so I have no real excuse to do anything about it.

10) My male celebrity crush is Pierce Brosnan. He has been since I was in my early 20’s. One of my husband’s favorite questions is, “On a scale of 1 to Pierce Brosnan….?”
