I know, I talk a lot about the heat, but here in Austin that’s life in the summertime. To help beat the heat we tend to run the air conditioner constantly. Which then makes it sometimes too cold inside. It’s a weird cycle, but it works for us.
I was looking through my closet the other day for a solution to the hot/cold dilemma. I tend to be more bare during the hot months and don’t necessarily want a full on jacket or cardigan for while I’m in the a/c.
In my search I came across all my scarves that I just can’t seem to get rid of. I wish I was more of a scarf person, since I always see so many beautiful ones. But realistically the only way I can wear them is as a belt. Which means all of my infinity scarves are just about useless to me. So I thought.
When I took a second look at my infinity scarves I realized that they are all made of lightweight fabric that would make great summertime ponchos or shawls.
It’s actually incredibly easy to turn an infinity scarf into a shawl. Open up the loop, and place one end over one shoulder, the other over the other shoulder. Fluff the layers. Done. Cute, lightweight shawl that’s perfect for summer.
What do you think of this scarf hack? Do you have another clever way of wearing an infinity scarf? Leave a comment and let me know!
